They saw me coming with my laptop a mile away opening up their pockets.

Bsnl broadband is becoming more popular with its speed options. As with any company the options mean more expensive as you add things on. It is supposed to be unlimited use. There are all kinds of problems with broadband connections and speed. I recently was in India and had to find out how to connect bsnl broadband to laptop at the hotel I was staying. I had never heard of bsnl prior to going over to India for business. I was told that I could plug my laptop into the outlet in my room and I would be billed for the number of hours I was on. They told me the price was $1.00 an hour. I thought it sounded fair until I got on and my laptop was slower than molasses. I called the desk and they told me if I wanted a higher speed I would need to pay $2.00 an hour. Once again technology is burning a hole in my pocket. You can't tell me this hotel wasn't making big bucks off from hotel guests. They love to con Americans.
