From Pin Diodes to Soundcards, My Love for Electronics

Technology
I've always been a bit of a nerd when it comes to electronics. I got my first computer in 1982 - a 16K ZX Spectrum. From that day on, I became interested in the hardware behind the computer. Back in those days 16K was considered a fairly large amount of memory (crazy as it sounds now). What's amazed me is the speed in which technology has improved since then.
In the 90s I was building my own computers from spare parts, but even that didn't satiate an even deeper desire to really see what's going on in the circuit boards.
In the last few years, my work has introduced me to pin diodes and their uses in microwave broadband. This has taken me in a slightly different direction but I've found my enthusiasm has jump-started once again, and I'm finding this particular field of electronics absolutely fascinating. Who knows what the future holds too, in regards to technology?
