If you are thinking about whether to go ahead with a personal injury claim, then it can be a good idea to work out what your chances are of winning. There are many factors which will influence this.
If you have no evidence, then this could be a problem as it will be your word against the other party. Witnesses can help as can photographs and medical reports. However, the quality of the evidence is also important.
The other party may have a really good lawyer and so you need to be prepared. It is a good idea to do a lot of research to make sure that the no win no fee solicitor that you use, is really good and will be likely to win the case for you. Find one that has good results with cases likes yours and has good knowledge in the area. They should be able to tell you what chance you have of winning the case and with their knowledge you will know that it is an accurate prediction.
A good solicitor will not want to take on a case with a small chance of winning. They will want to make sure that they uphold their reputation and only take on cases they feel they can win. Therefore if your case starts being turned down by solicitors, then it implies that perhaps you do not have enough evidence to present a good case. Do check why they are turning you down though as it might just be that they do not feel they have enough experience to deal with it.
You may just want to go to court anyway, but there will be some costs if you lose. You may have to pay the costs of the other party and this will cost money. You may have to take out insurance to cover it or you may be covered by insurance that you already hold. This means you will either be paying a premium just before the case or paying higher ones for the rest of your life because you have made a claim on your own policy.
